The Bologna Children's Book Fair 2023 witnessed a significant expansion of the SDG Book Club, with Brazil being the latest country to join the initiative. The project aims to promote the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through literature and reading, encouraging children and young adults to engage with the global agenda for a better future.
Karine Pansa, a prominent Brazilian author, highlighted the importance of the SDG Book Club in reaching every region, as 140 titles were selected as the official list for librarians in the country. This marks a significant step towards making the SDG Book Club accessible to children in Brazil and ensuring that the initiative reaches the country's most remote regions.
The SDG Book Club has already gained recognition in various countries for its efforts to promote the SDGs through literature. The project aims to inspire children and young adults to become active global citizens and to use the power of reading to engage with some of the most pressing issues facing our planet.
With the addition of Brazil to the initiative, the SDG Book Club is set to reach an even wider audience and continue to positively impact the lives of children and young adults around the world.
